Data & Responsible Use

DonorFoundry is designed to support responsible fundraising research. Production data sources, licensing terms, geographic availability, retention rules and processing practices should be documented for the exact sources used in your deployment.

Human-controlled fundraising

AI can assist with discovery, prioritization, summarization and drafting, but nonprofit staff should decide who to contact, what to ask, and what message to send.

Source-aware enrichment

Maintain provenance for licensed and public data sources where practical, and do not represent inferred information as a verified fact.

Suppression and preferences

Organizations should be able to maintain internal suppression, do-not-contact, or preference records to reduce inappropriate outreach.

Purpose limitation

Prospect information should be used for legitimate fundraising and relationship-management purposes and should not include irrelevant sensitive data merely because it is available.
